About

Our Story

The Global Society of Medicine & Health (GSMH) was founded in May 2025 in Paris by Arman Mahdavi, a medical student who refused to accept that borders should limit who gets to learn, care, and contribute in medicine.

What began as a single conviction has grown, in just a few months, into an international network already active across four chapters — Tbilisi, Lublin, IaČ™i, and Bishkek — bringing together close to 250 active members: medical and health students, physicians, researchers, and educators.

A Student-Led Global Movement

GSMH exists to build a worldwide medical network where knowledge, care, and opportunity flow without borders. We facilitate international medical mobility, build intergenerational mentorship, promote collaborative research, support mental health among health actors, and act against global health inequalities through humanitarian work.

We are not a top-down institution. We are a movement founded by a medical student, for the students and health professionals who will shape the future of care.

The Values That Guide Us

Everything we do is guided by eight core values: Excellence, Humanity, Transmission, Inclusion, Innovation, Responsibility, Equity, and Adaptability. They are not slogans — they are the conditions every member agrees to uphold when they join GSMH.
